Year 4 Girls Football Club

School Games U9 Girls Football Festival

26 March 2018 at Inspire Suffolk

Nine girls set off to take part in the School Games U9 Girls Football Festival on a bright afternoon, which quickly turned chilly!

They played 5 games which were 7 minutes each, one way.  The size of the pitch initially seemed very daunting and the girls had to work hard when counter attacking.

The first game was evenly matched against Britannia and despite several shots on target, finished goal-less.

The second game was against a very strong Hadleigh side, but the girls played brilliantly together as a team which resulted in a 1.0 loss.

The third game against Colneis was very evenly matched with shots at both ends.  However, Colneis just managed to score at the end.

The fourth game we had to change pitch and went up against Gorseland.  With some very positive attacking play, we saw Katie score our first goal and the game finished 1.0 to us.

Our final game was against Sproughton and the experience from our previous games stood us in good stead, with some good end to end play.

The girls really enjoyed the afternoon.

Thank you to the parents for their support.
