School Games U9 Girls Football Festival

On a lovely spring afternoon seven year 4 girls went to Inspire Suffolk to participate in the girls’ football festival. It was a 7v7 format and they played 4 games in a league. They lost their first game, but only 1.0, with them scoring in the last couple of minutes. The second game we looked more confident and the result was 0.0. The third game we were more attacking and this resulted in winning the game 1.0. The final game was a close matched game and although we created opportunities and used the space better, they defended well and the final result was 0.0. Leia pulled off some great saves in goal, with Freya and Poppy defending well and holding their positions. Robyn, Olivia and Leah worked hard in midfield, attacking well, but then tracking back to help defend. Mia put in some excellent forward runs and created several chances. The goal came from Olivia, when the team applied pressure in the box. Mia was selected by the School Games organiser to receive the fair play award.Well done to the girls for displaying a great attitude and being so enthusiastic and thank you to the parents for the transport and their fantastic support.
