School Games U11 Futsal Festival

Monday 19th March 2018 at Inspire Suffolk

Six children took part in the School Games U11 Futsal Festival.  Teams consisted of 4 players and were 9 minutes one way, with no goalie.  We played in a league of 6 teams.

We lost our first game as we acclimatised to the size of the pitch and the tactics needed to cover the goal.

However, every child learnt from this first game and thinking more tactically we went out and won our second game!

We drew the next two games, coming from behind in both of them.   We finished on a high, winning our last game.

Freya and Mia grew in confidence throughout the afternoon in the mixed event, playing with year 6.  Jack and Callum proved to be very effective in attacking play, creating chances.  William and Mason were excellent in defence pushing forward, but always tracking back to defend.  Mason made some excellent blocks in front of goal, reading the game expertly!

Every player was a credit to themselves and the school, displaying an excellent attitude, team spirit and respect for everyone.

William won the fair play award for the school.

Thank you to the parents for transporting them to the event and their support throughout the afternoon.
