Emergency Closure - Snow!
It is our aim to keep the school open, whatever the weather!
On the rare occasions when the school may have to close the decision is made early in the morning and is broadcast on Radio Suffolk and recorded on Suffolk County Council's school closure website. It is possible that we may open even if Claydon High School does not.
If the weather deteriorates during the school day, we will always remain open until our usual time. However if the road conditions deteriorate during the school day and you are not within walking distance of school, you may pick up your child early. It is not necessary to phone before doing so. If you are within walking distance we request that you leave your child at school to avoid disruption to learning.
On snowy days, we will provide the children with the opportunity to play outside during break times unless the weather is too severe or conditions too dangerous. Therefore it is essential that children bring wellies (or something similar), a warm waterproof coat, a hat and gloves for wearing outside, along with shoes to change into indoors.
