Our Sustainability Vision

At Claydon Primary School, we are committed to becoming a sustainable school by
embedding sustainability at the heart of our curriculum, campus and community.
Our approach is rooted in our core values: Character, Collaboration, Community,
Culture and Curriculum.

We will nurture Character by empowering our pupils to be responsible, reflective
individuals who make positive choices for the environment. Through real-life
learning, they will develop the resilience, kindness and honesty needed to become
guardians of the planet and advocates for a fairer, more sustainable world.

Through Collaboration, we will build a culture of collective action. Our pupils will
learn to work together - across year groups, with staff, families, and the wider
community - to take meaningful steps toward a greener future. By promoting
teamwork and participation, we will foster trust and a shared sense of purpose in
addressing global and local environmental challenges.

Our strong sense of Community will underpin every action we take. We will inspire
our pupils to contribute actively to both local and global communities, understanding
that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Through hands-on projects, outreach
initiatives and environmental partnerships, our children will learn the importance of
compassion, engagement and responsibility.

We will celebrate and explore Culture by fostering curiosity about how different
communities around the world live sustainably. Through cross-cultural learning, our
pupils will deepen their understanding of global citizenship and build respect for
diverse environmental practices, beliefs, and perspectives.

Finally, our Curriculum will be rich, inclusive and future-focused. Outdoor learning,
ecological education and climate literacy will be fully integrated to provide all pupils
with the knowledge and skills they need to face environmental challenges with
confidence and creativity. We will inspire a love of nature and a desire to protect it,
preparing our children to be the problem-solvers and changemakers of tomorrow.
